6.1 Quake Strick East-Northeast of Hau-lien, Taiwan Collapsing a Hotel

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck 22 kilometers (14 miles) east-northeast of Hua-lien in Taiwan at a depth of 1 kilometer, the U.S Geological Survey said on Tuesday.

A hotel in Hua-lien collapsed after the quake, according to Taiwan's government.

No other details were immediately available. A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck nearby on Sunday.
