WALKER COUNTY, Ga. — The Walker County Sheriff's Office arrested a teacher they say choked a woman with his hands Saturday.

48-year-old Robert Samuel Forester was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Forester is listed as a math and science teacher at LaFayette High School.

Forester's bail was set at $5,000. A booking report from the Walker County Sheriff's office shows he posted bond on Monday.

Walker County Schools released a statement Monday night, saying that Forester turned himself in to authorities, and that the incident is not related to his teaching position with the school system.

"This matter will be carefully reviewed as details are provided to the School System," said school superintendent Damon Raines.
