I saw it this morning from republic washington. it entered the atmosphere at 5:30 a.m. - i know because it was important to note the time. it was gold and orange in color with blue hue on its edges. it had an elongated top with a bulb bottom (like a christmas tree ornament or onion). it lasted about 5 seconds and lit up the entire mountain sky. it was to our south. there was no noise associated with it. it came straight down, not slanted like meteorites i have seen. i would very much appreciate it if you could follow this story. the information coming from your part of the state is different from that in ours. time and color reported are different. was there more than one event? was this truly a meteorite? if so, how can that be determined? was it space debris? it appeared to have metalic colors associated with it. please just dont say it is a meteorite because some agency says so an hour after the event. it is an exciting and curious happening that deserves more exploration. many thanks.

I was just crossing the railroad tracks on Rocklyn Rd. 8 miles west of Davenport when I saw two brilliant blue flashes that lit up the cab of my pick-up. - Vicki Davenport, WA
I was driving to work, heading North on Argonne just past trent, when I glanced to the West and saw the entire sky light up in light blue. It was lit up long enough for me to pan the sky from the West to the North and to the East when it finally disappeared. TO COOL!! - Bill Hultquist Spokane Valley, WA
I was running on my treadmill and about 5:30am I saw a bright flash out of the corner of my eye that came through a window that faces West. It looked to me like a camera flash. I even looked to see if I could see clouds because I thought maybe it was lightening. Then I heard a rumble that I thought was my wife shutting the door (but it wasn't). It wasn't until I got to work that I heard about the meteor report.

Everyone is talking about the 5:30 light show but I saw one on my way to work at 3:25. It was a light that went straight down it was blue and white and didnt seem very wide but long. Did anyone else see this what appears to be almost two hours earlier? - Melinda Cass Spokane, WA
I was going on HWY 53 just leaving Rathdrum when I saw to my left a bright light in the South West sky over Rathdrum only for a few seconds It was a blue ball with a brite orange tail It was awsome

I was on my way to Cottonwood Idaho, for a CNA class that I am currently enrolled in. It was 5:27 and as I was driving I saw the whole sky light up. It lit up for a few seconds then turning to a bright green then to a bright orange color, flickering off and on, as I looked towards the moon there was this large ball of fire comming down towards the ground. Then soon after seeing the ball of flame disappear into the dark night sky, there was a bright glow just for a brief second, to where it appeared that it must have landed. It was truely an amazing sight, that lasted for only seconds.

I was sitting in my room and happened to look out the window when I saw a flash that looked like lightning or the flash of helicopter landing lights from Sacred Heart. But I didn't hear a helicopter or thunder. I realized that it wasn't lightning when I could see the stars outside. I didn't hear about the meteor until 9 hours later. - Debra Morgan Spokane, WA
My mom was awake at 5:30 this morning getting ready for work this morning when she ran into my room and started freaking out about how she saw a bright double flash in the sky out our window then a small boom. We thought that maybe some one was doing fireworks until we saw the news coverage...I hope they find something!
